The Holidays are OVER

Yes! I am finally able to complete this post! Then there shall be two posts in one month! Celebrate! But let me tell you, it wasn't easy. Just about everything was failing on me. I had to go through so much just to be able to get this post even started. This is what I felt like after I had finally finished this post.

First there was starting my new job - yay I'm an RN! Soooo much responsibility... I have also been sick for weeks and I had homework to complete before starting my job. Plus, my computer is still running hot every time I open a program. Not only that, when I just wanted to sit down and calmly write a new blog today my Bamboo wouldn't work!

I had to reinstall the whole thing! But fortunately it worked after that. Phew. Furthermore, a whole lot of other things got in the way of the blog writing.

But now there's no excuses - so let's get into it.

So, this is how I had spent the last few days of the holidays.

Gross... It was right before I started my new job too. During orientation I believed I made a good impression.

Tomorrow will be my third week into it. It is well and truly safe to say that after 16 years I am no longer a student. It's quite alarming.

No, wait, that's not right.

There we go.

I am currently working on a ward. I know, I know, I didn't get peri-operative nursing, but this is only my first rotation - and it's better if I have some more ward experience before I go into my specialised area. Let's just hope my next rotation is in theatre. Mind you, the ward I'm working on is fantastic - the staff are amazing and I've had experience there before. So I know I'm going to have a good rotation there.

It's taken a few days to find my feet. It's been so long since I have worked on a ward, but I'm picking things up fast and when I'm stuck I always ask questions. I hope all my other nursing-uni buddies are doing well also.

Last weekend I went over to my friend Blake's house and we watched some movies. My other friend Simon was also there. I was so excited to tell them all about my new job. When we were all seated...

Oh - on another topic, I had quite a relaxing holiday between study and work. I didn't get up to too much... sorry I'm not very exciting. But during these holidays, my friend Ayla and I went to Werribee park for a picnic! It was a beautiful day.

We were eating lunch whilst talking about pretty things. Then some unexpected visitors arrived...

They hovered around us for the entire time we ate. But luckily no more came.

And to finish, I'll draw the horrific event which occurred in my room not too long ago...

I'd just like to say thanks to all of you who read my blog. Your support and encouragement means so much to me. I hope you will continue to read my blog in the future!! And please, spread the word! The more people who read the blog - the more motivation I have to write/draw them! And don't forget to join the facebook page to get updates via facebook - the link is on the home page of this blog!

That's all my spamming for today, until then - take care!
xx
